Elvington Fisheries - Venue Review

WHELDRAKE LANE
ELVINGTON
YORK

TEL - 01904607504

This is a large, deep lake (3 acres, 12 foot deep) and is classed as a specimum lake.
It is also a caravan site so quite often the pegs are already taken.
The size of the fish that can be caught is huge with some massive Carp and Cat Fish often caught by the "Bivvy Boys" who often fish this water.
It is stocked with Ruffe, Carp, Roach, Perch, Bream, Eels, Tench and Chub.
Elvington opens at 8am and closes at 9pm.

Quotes I've found on other sites include :

"This lake is about 3 acres in size and offers good features and secluded corners. Depths range between 5 feet and 12 feet. There is a big resident of Ruffe in the lake. There are toilets and showers on site. The Carp in the water go to the middle 20's and specimen tactics account for these on a regular basis. There is a very good stock of carp though just below double figures. The water holds Bream to 10lb, Tench to 9lb and a good head of Chub, Roach and Perch."

"The lake is approx' 2.5 acres in the form of an "L". Before becoming a fishery the site was a brickworks so the lake bed is mostly clay. The lake has overhanging trees and large weedbeds. The lake holds good stocks of Carp, Tench, Bream, Roach, Rudd and Catfish. Catfish of over 50lb have been caught and Carp of 27lb. Tench of 10lb and Bream of 4lb are not rare either"
