Heading into today I needed a victory as I wanted to get my lead up to 9 or 10 points again knowing today was only one of two more sessions before we go to Docklow in June.
We were going to Fourways Fishery again in Gunthorpe but to fish the Roadside lake this time. The lake has been fully stocked and holds a variety of fish up to 6lb.
The match was a struggle for Dad, who caught 10 fish in the 6 hours but all small fish. He fished the pole the majority of the time for a final total of 16 lb 4 oz.
I was on peg 7 next door and caught 8 fish but this included some quite good carp so ended up with a respectable (for April) total of 26 lb 10 oz to claim a 4-1 win.
The lake is ok and will be even better in Summer. The owners are doing a lot of work to the venue. The only thing i didnt like is that there seemed to be a lot of weed on the bottom all along the centre of the lake which was very annoying.
One match in May (7th) and then we head to Docklow for the Docklow Trophy in June
