There are three lakes present here but I like to fish the one furthest away from the entry to the site.
It is called Little Wood and has two parts to the lake adjoined by a bridge that runs above it.
There are no clear pegs dug out and as a result the lake is very natural looking.
The lake is V Shaped and quite sheltered on the short side.
The lake has many reeds and marginal features to fish to.
It is open dawn 'til dusk and contains many different species including the quite rare Brown Goldfish.
Quotes I've found on other sites include :
"It is a v-shaped lake and is quite sheltered on the short side. The water has depths between 4 and 8 feet. There is a mixed bag of fish in here with plenty of reeds and marginal features to target. Choose your pegs well and dont be scared of moving if its not working. It can be very peggy. You can tell the best pegs as they are worn away the most. Traditional baits will see you catching tench, rudd and bream whilst the bigger baits tend to find out the carp. The best chance of a big fish is to feeder well out and sit tight. You may only catch one fish but it will be a good one. The best weigh of building a good weight is to feed little and often about 10 metres out with maggot or worm on a bed of hemp"
Do you plan on fishing it again this season?
ReplyDeleteIt's my fave place at the moment :)
