2nd July 2016 - Newhay Lakes (Course Lake)

So today was just a pleasure fishing session. I decided to go back to Newhay, the scene of last weeks defeat.
I got there at 5.30am so had the pick of the lake. I fished a peg next to a tree, a peg I'd heard good things about.
The weather was a bit nippy but dry so not too bad. It was however very windy so I expected a tough day.
My plan was to fish for about 6 hours.
To be honest there wasn't much to report. It was very similar to last week. The first few hours were great and saw me net an Ide, Ghost Carp, Mirror Carp, Grass Carp and F1 Carp. The grass Carp was 6 lb 3 oz so I was more than happy.
However just like last week the next few hours were a slog with me only catching a Bream and another Ide.
Overall it was ok and I do like the place but I did want more than the 22 lb 8 oz I ended up with.
It seems that this lake produces early doors so I'm even tempted to buy a Bivvy.
