3rd July 2016 - Rising Sun Fisheries (Lake 1)

Today was match number 13 of the season and after two defeats in the last two matches I had to up my game.
The match was to be held at Rising Sun Fisheries but this time on the Speci' lake.
We got there at 5.30am and had a little walk round.
The lake is a large lake with an Island down at one end. The Island was at the end of the lake that we parked at so wanted two pegs near the Island. Dad wasn't right bothered as he was to be on the Pole again. The lake had half a dozen Bivvy boys on and some pegs were reserved for night fishing so we chose two pegs down one side. I was on peg 21 a spacious peg and Dad on the tighter Peg 20.
This was my 50th Lake I'd fished so I just had to win at all costs. I set up with my usual gear and we started at 6.30am. The match was to last until 1pm.
The day was a story of good and bad, good for me and bad for Dad.
Dad struggled from the start going hours without bites ending the match with only half a dozen small fish for about 13 lb.
Over on my peg I smashed it. I was catching with every cast and with whatever bait I used.
Every fish I caught was surprisingly a Bream but not skimmers. Each one was between 2 lb and 3 lb 4oz.
I ended up with 22 Bream for a haul of 51 lb,
It seemed weird catching Bream all session on a Speci' lake but to be honest I didn't see the Carpers catch many carp. Maybe this lake is more of a Bream water nowadays.
I am due to go back for another crack here so only time will tell I suppose.

So I smashed 50 lb on my 50th Water and a 5-0 win to boot
Happy today ..........

Next week I will be having a pleasure session somewhere on Sunday. There will be no match against Dad for a couple of weeks now as Saturday is Fishomania which we are attending
