3rd September 2016 - Risby Park Fisheries (Folly Lake)

After a 3 week break from matches against Dad today was a welcome return to the pressure of trying to gain 5 points.
Today's match was to be held at Risby Park fisheries, a place we had fished before. However, today would be a debut for us both on Folly Lake at the venue.
The lake is a long type lake, slightly wider at one end.
We arrived at the venue at 6.15am but the gates were locked, 20 minutes later the owner arrived and explained that the key was behind a sign next to the gate, arghhhh , ah well at least we know for next time.
We chose two pegs very close to the cafe and the car was only 10 yards from the pegs too so perfect haha.
The weather was dry but heavy rain was forcast for all afternoon so the brolly was at the ready...
We decided to fish two hours and then have a break for Breakfast in the Cafe and what a two hours it was for me.
The opening two hours saw me land two Common Carp, two Ghost Carp, a Mirror Carp and a Bream for a total of 15 lb 9 oz. It was a different story for Dad though who had failed to get off the mark even losing a big one too.
Breakfast in the Cafe was expensive but nice and with such a healthy lead I was brimming with confidence as we went back to our pegs.
The next hour saw me land another three Mirror Carp, one which was 6 lb 13 oz. My lead was now over 25 lb and Dad was still to get off the mark.
Then came the rain and the next hour was Dad's though, a short burst of form saw him net three carp and claw back about 13 or 14 lb.
I started to bottle it and after i landed a tiny Mirror carp i went to the car to get some pellets I had caught well on earlier. As i got back to my peg my reel went round and i was into something big.... After a 10 minute fight i landed it. It was a 9 lb 13 oz Ghost Carp. This was my biggest catch of the season.
That was game set and match, Dads head dropped and failed to catch anything else, whereas I caught two more Carp and two more Bream in the final couple of hours.
I finished with 42 lb 10 oz with Dad back on about 14 lb
A 5 -0 win for me was just the tonic and with a maximum of 6 matches left in the season I surely cannot lose...
