So a return to Risby Park Fisheries to fish Folly Lake again.
In terms of the league, Dad needed to win today's match 5-0 and then follow it up with 5-0 wins in each of the four matches after today. A tall task surely...
We got to the fishery at about 6-30am and after setting up, we cast in at 7-30am.
Today's match was a 6 1/2 hour a session.
The first two hours saw me catch 3 Mirror Carp to give me an early lead.
At breakfast i was on 8 lb 14 oz, with Dad on about 2 lb.
In the couple of hours between Breakfast and Noon Dad caught a few Carp but was stunned when i landed a season best Ghost Carp of 11 lb 8 oz. Surely this would bag me at least the 1 point I needed to secure the title.
The afternoon was hard going with hardly a bite for either of us. I did manage a Golden Orfe and a Skimmer Bream.
The weather was glorious. Warm and sunny. Very strange for mid September, but very much appreciated.
The match finished with me winning 5-0.
My total weight of 23 lb 13 oz winning by about 6 lb.
My 7 fish to Dads 5
My big Ghostie stole the show though
So I retain my title with four matches still to go. Fantastic
