So, here it was, the 2021 season opener and safe to say its been an interesting off season.
We had our baby daughter in the middle of a pandemic and life wasn't as normal as it would have been any other year. Having a baby makes you see life differently and priorities change for the better.
Nethertheless fishing was back and it was important to get off to a good start
The match was to be held at Leger Lakes on the pleasure lake, this was a venue we hadn't been to before
We got to site and the place was lovely, allebit very small.
Our lake had 20 pegs on and 4 were already taken so we chose our pegs on what was a frosty morning.
I cant really write a lot about what happened because very little did happen. Dad spent the first 6 hours netting 3 tiny tiddlers for 6 oz whilst I was on my way to an opening session blank
Then............ with an hour left, my rod took off and after a fight I landed a huge 13 lb 5 oz common carp to save the day
Lovely little place and one we will be visiting next in the summer
4-1 win for me today as the 2021 season jumps into action
