Could I finally get over the finishing line and clinch the league title today? After back to back defeats I was starting to feel the pressure (even though I still held a huge lead)
Today, we went to Oakmere Fishing Lakes for the first time in three years and chose to fish the larger lake on the complex. (Coarse Lake)
The weather had taken a turn for the worse this week with strong winds and temperatures had also plummeted
We cast in at 7.30am and within 10 minutes we both into our first fish. Big T with a 4 oz Skimmer and me with an 8 oz Skimmer
Was this the start of a good day, catching lots of fish............................ NO !!!
What followed was the worst match of the season as we both failed to net any other fish.
This meant that victory was mine by a tiny margin of 4 oz and although it was a garbage boring match I won the day 4.5 v 0.5 to regain the league title (The Wilkie Trophy)
3 matches to go in this enjoyable but strange season
Can't wait to display the Wilkie Trophy and hopefully some more of the trophies still to fight for in these last three weeks of the season
