So a trip on my own today to a place I've only ever fished once before. Risby Park Fisheries.
I was to fish the Gorse Lake (Tench lake) as I had done at the start of June and to be honest was hoping a better day than last time.
I arrived at the venue at 5.45am to find a few young kids on over-nighters.
Unfortunately this venue suffers (in my opinion) from too many kids. A large amount of children aged between 10 and 16 fish this venue both through the day and during nights. They share landing nets, dont have bivvys, just normal tent/brolly shelters. They move from peg to peg and are far from quiet. This for me spoils what is a nice venue. It doesn't stop me going though its just an annoyance.
I got set up on peg 23 which was a corner peg near to where I parked my car. The sun was out even at this early hour. It was to be a scorching hot day.
I was to fish between 6.10am and 1.10am.
Hour 1 - Was great. Three Bream, a Ghost Carp of 4 lb 8 oz and a 6 lb Common Carp.
Hour 2 - Slowed down a little but still bagged two beauties. A BRIGHT red Golden Orfe and a 5 lb 8 oz Common Carp
Hour 3 - Just the two fish again. This time a Bream and a Mirror Carp of 3 lb
Hour 4 - Three small fish during this hour (2 Bream and a small Common Carp of 1 lb 2 oz
Hour 5 - Two more again during this hour. Another Bream and a Mirror Carp of 3 lb 12 oz
Hour 6 - Just one fish but a real fighter. A Common Carp of 5 lb 5 oz
Hour 7 - The final hour saw me catch just the one Bream
So overall a great day. Plenty of decent fish early doors and died off a bit towards lunch and into the afternoon probably due to the increasing temperature and bright sunshine.
